The Now Word Today
The NOW Word for Today

The Word that the Lord Jesus is speaking today is concerning this:
  • The Lord is calling many to pray earnest prayer. Watchmen are praying now. This is “earnest” prayer. Intercession and supplication with deep groaning in the spirit that cannot be uttered. The prayer is for the pouring forth of the Spirit like rain upon His people and world. The rending of the heavens and His coming to us as the rain:

    • “Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” (Hosea 6:3);
    • “Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.” (Joel 2:23)
    • “Ask the LORD for rainIn the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.” (Zech 10:1)
    • “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” (James 5:7,8)
    • “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.” (James 5: 17,18)

Understanding our time is critical to earnest prophetic praying. The time to “ask” for rain is in the time of the latter rain (Zech 10:1) and the earnestness (James 5:17) of this asking is often understood as ‘the Spirit of prayer’. When the Holy Spirit is on you to pray in such a manner it comes forth like travail; groaning deep from within that does not go away until the Lord establishes His Word.

o       “…for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children” (Isaiah 66:8)
o       “ I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once. (Isaiah 42:14)
o       “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes (Isaiah 62:6,7)

  • The Lord will Rend the Heavens pouring forth His Spirit.
